You may ask, Is it possible to assemble the Solowave Cedar Summit Canyon Ridge Swing  playcentre yourself?   It’s really up you.  You decide if it’s right way forward for you.

Don’t know where to start?  Don’t worry.   I can give you hints and tips because I have experience with this.

Here’s a list of tools you will need:

  • Tape Measure
  • Spirit Level
  • Set square
  • Hammer
  • Drill
  • Drill bits (imperial 1/8 and 3/16 – not metric sizes, you can order these from amazon)
  • Phillips Screwdrivers
  • Robertson (Square head) #1 and #3
  • Ratchets
  • Open ended wrenches
  • Adjustable Wrench
  • Allen Key
  • Step Ladder

Handy Hint: – Its easier if you have more than one drill.  You won’t have to keep changing bits to do pilot holes and screws.

So why qualifys me to help you?  I’m a handyman who has recently assembled and installed one of these Costco kids playcentres in Liverpool.  It was a little tricky at times (I’ll tell you about that tube slide later!)  but I really enjoyed the challenge.  Firstly, it will take time.  You CAN’T do it in an instant.  The outdoor playhouse was assembled by two people over two days.

The best pieces of advice I can give are:

  1. Have the ground level and ready for assembly.
  2. Make sure you have all the correct tools (they don’t all come with it)
  3. Check all parts are present before you start – taking your time here really helps.
  4. The instruction book is actually quite good.  Use it. Follow it.  Stick to it. Take your time.
  5. Periodically check all four corners are vertically level, you don’t want a unsteady structure.

Things should run smoothly until you come to the tube slide. The instructions do say that this part alone will take 2-4 hours. The plastic molded section may seem slightly out of shape.  It will just take some manoeuvring/pushing into place to all line up. Be patient.

Handy Hint: Don’t try to do both outer rings at the same time.  Do the bottom outer ring first then the top outer ring.  This should make it slightly easier for you.  You’ll see what I mean when you get to this stage.  Stick with it.

Thats it!  Enjoy building your Cedar Summit Canyon Ridge.

If you don’t have the time do it yourself, I can do it for you.
